CloudBox Gears Up For Production With Visit To Manufacturer.

In May, CloudBox Founder/CEO Quentin Sauvage and Chief Manufacturing Officer Chris Malson took a trip to Shanghai, China, to tour the CloudBox manufacturing facility and see first hand what is about to become the production line supplying our clients with CloudBox units worldwide. “It was a bit of a culture shock the first day we were there.” said Quentin, “Everyone typically keeps to themselves, it’s not like back home where strangers might come up and talk to you or vice versa. The city was incredibly clean, there wasn’t even a lot of trash.”
Quentin and Chris enjoyed some traditional Chinese cuisine and explored the city, the scale of which neither of them were expecting. “Shanghai is huge, way bigger than even NYC, you could spend an hour and a half driving and still be in it.” Quentin remarked, as the next day they would be traveling to the factory on the outskirts of the city. Our manufacturing partner boasts one of the most productive factory institutions in China. They do everything from CNC metal working to injection molding, assembly and warehousing. They also have a center strictly for Quality Control. They pride themselves on keeping a zero delay policy, as well as a complaint rate under 3 percent. A quick 45 minute meeting finalized the manufacturing agreement after the tour, in which the CloudBox team managed to negotiate a better price for the company.
“The feeling was incredibly surreal.” said Quentin, reflecting on the journey the company has been on so far. “Just thinking about all the changes from the original idea I had to the final product and where it is now was so surreal. They don’t teach this in business school. With a team of 12 and well over half being under the age of 25, it’s just a testament to the huge amount of hard work we’ve put in and everyone should feel very proud and accomplished of what we’ve managed to achieve so far.”
CloudBox has achieved another step towards becoming a staple in the market, and the work is only getting started. We couldn’t be more excited to see where the future will take us!
