Understand the intricacies of cultivation, curing, packaging, and point of sale, and see how CloudBox can optimize each step with innovative solutions.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS: After each harvest, a new generation of cannabis begins its life as a seed, picked off the flower of its parent plant. Each stage during the cannabis cultivation process requires its own unique demands, including different levels of light, water, and nutrients. It can take anywhere from 4 to 8 months to grow a cannabis plant, depending on where you’re growing. An indoor grow room allows for total control over environmental conditions, and plants are able to flower after only a few weeks.

CLOUDBOX USE CASE: CloudBox integration can begin as soon as seeds are harvested. Each CloudBox is made with food-grade plastic and comes standard with an airtight silicone ring around the lid, allowing for proper storage without degradation due to the CloudBox.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT: Cannabis curing stops the natural breakdown of cannabinoids in the buds and preserves the levels of THC and terpenes by controlling light, temperature, and humidity levels. This process allows buds stay fresher for longer while protecting against bacteria. Once properly cured, growers can store their cannabis for years with minimal THC loss. This processes is essential for the creating shelf stable and long lasting products.

CLOUDBOX USE CASE: CloudBox features customization that allows for the normally clear sides to be dyed into any color, this along with food grade sealant allows for complete climate control. RFID within each CloudBox means that product can be tracked and recorded without being moved from one box to another.

ALMOST THERE: Once done curing, the cannabis can then be packaged down for individual sale. Employees break down bags, often in quantities of 1-5 lbs, into anywhere from 1 oz baggies to 3.5 g containers. This is also the stage where buds will be processed into other items like pre-rolls, edibles, and wax based products. This phase is especially vulnerable to inventory shrinkage, where product can be lost or mishandled.

CLOUDBOX USE CASE: CloudBox allows for real time tracking across any number different product types. If any weight is off between one phase of production/fulfillment and another, it becomes incredibly easy to pinpoint exactly when and where the discrepancy occurred.

CHA-CHING: After a long process of growing, harvesting, curing, processing, fulfilling, packaging, and shipping, the cannabis finally reaches the storefront, where a licensed dispensary will make it available for purchase. At this point customers can pick and choose whichever product suits their needs and pay for it then and there.

CLOUDBOX USE CASE: CloudBox differentiates itself from Point of Sale systems by tracking product from the back end. Where most of these systems rely solely on a completed purchase to track inventory changes, the real time data from CloudBox ensures tracking even when the product is on the shelf, or if it gets put back. This knowledge allows for intimate analysis of sales data, allowing for businesses to put only the best and most efficient product out for sale.
